Hi, my name’s Aaron Olson. I am currently residing in the Bellevue area of Nashville, Tennessee. I was raised in Chillicothe, Illinois a small town just north of Peoria on the Illinois River. Chillicothe has a population of about 6,000 people. My dad is an Engineer and mom is a school counselor and I have one younger sister who is a physical therapist in Davenport, IA. I attended IVC High School and then moved to Columbia, Missouri to attend the University of Missouri. At Mizzou I majored in English with a History minor.
In college I was heavily involved in the Wesley Student Center. It was there and while living in the Wesley Co-op that I met some of my greatest friends. After graduating in May of 2001, I entered graduate school and eventually received my Masters of Education Technology from the School of Information Science and Learning Technology. My area of emphasis was Network Learning Systems (now called Learning Systems Design & Development) which combined my interests in art, writing, education and computers.
In the fall of 2003 I returned to the Peoria area and took a job first as an Interactive Design intern and then as a full-time Interactive Design Consultant with CGN & Associates. Next, I moved to Nashville, TN and worked as a Production/Training Specialist for Digital Dog Inc, a web development firm. Currently I work as a Technical Writer for Learning Excellence, at Caterpillar Financial.
I have a several really good friends in Nashville and every day I enjoy meeting new people. I am a member of Crosspoint Community Church. I adopted a 7 year old Boston Terrier named Barney last year. Barney is deaf which presents some challenges but is full of energy and keeps me on my toes.
I am both a music and a movie lover and am always looking for an opportunity to see good live music. I’m also a big sports fan.
